Spanish Style Residence

2100 sq ft

The clients, a young couple, wanted a house that was cozy and clutter free. Both husband and wife work in the entertainment industry as TV writers.

The clients loved the high beamed ceilings and Spanish details of the house and asked SPI to furnish the house in a style that would complement the existing aesthetic. In the living room, SPI created a seating area with two carved Spanish bobbin chairs, an 8' sofa and two petite ottomans upholstered in blue woven fabric and also designed the octagonal coffee table with walnut base and an inset stone top. A Joan Miro painting hangs above the 1960s vintage cocktail bar.

AV equipment in the TV room is housed in a Dutch cabinet originally used for storing bread. A vintage Italian coffee table with brass legs and an inlaid stone top fronts an 8' sofa upholstered in green mohair. An antique wingback leather chair with brass studs is the perfect place to enjoy the fire.

The dining room, 27' by 12', was an ideal space for a long, narrow dining table. SPI designed the Spanish trestle style table, which seats twelve, with carved legs and an antiqued finish. Gold leaf was used to enhance the ceiling. The SPI-designed chairs are covered alternately in blue linen and printed velvet and two wrought iron chandeliers hang above the table. A 6' mirror with a peacock-feather style frame faces a wall with four Joan Miro prints.

All of the bathrooms dazzle with vintage Spanish tile in various colors. SPI designed the black painted cabinetry in the master bath to allow for more storage at the sink area.
